Main Purpose of Job: Working as part of the project team to provide a high standard of work in the assembly, test and repair, manufacture, installation and commissioning of electrical instrumentation systems in onshore and offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities (shall include but are not limited to): Technical
- Assemble, test & repair, install and commission systems onshore and offshore.
- Basic report writing.
- Liaise with suppliers as required.
- Assist project team in house, with all aspects of onshore and offshore as required.
- Provide regular communication with the office when offshore and provide progress reports.
Workshop
- Maintain a tidy workshop.
- Work closely with the Receptionist / Office Assistant to ensure all stock is labelled and stored appropriately.
- Stock taking as required.
General
- Attend and participate in company / project meetings to maintain good communications and aid business and organisational development.
- Comply with the company's HSQ Management System.
- Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education
- Minimum HNC - Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience
- Offshore experience in the installation and commissioning of electrical instrumentation systems preferable.
- Experience with control panel manufacture / installation.
- Knowledge of PLC's, MMI's and networks and advantage
Skills and Knowledge
- Good practical engineering / workshop skills.
- Good problem solving and electrical fault finding skills.
- PC skills - Microsoft Word / Excel.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Fault finding.
- Flexible.
- Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload.
- Driving licence preferred but not essential.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Work Environment
- The position is based in Aberdeen and will involve a mixture of offshore and onshore based project work.
- Travel will be as required, rather than on a regular rota.
- Overseas work may require an extended length of stay.
